Ugly Duck

Real / Virtual – Ugly Duck’s Creative Call Out – deadline 3 April 2017

“Ugly Duck is a social enterprise that focuses on revitalising underused space through art & culture, every six month we seek creative project to host in our uniques venues in London, our new open call just opened:

This is a great opportunity for artists to take over our different spaces as we have a very varied programme, from arts projects to architecture; science, information and technology; social sciences and activism.

This season Ugly Duck has chosen the theme Real/Virtual.

In an era where technology is fully assimilated in society, art and media, augmented and virtual reality have shifted the definition of what constitutes the ‘real world’. What is the meaning of reality today? ‘Does ‘virtual’ necessarily stand in opposition to ‘real’? …

For projects at Tanner Street we are interested in projects that last up to 3 days, however we are very open to longer projects at our other spaces such as Testing Works, located in Southwark, or Off Quay in East India Docks.

All submissions for the next six months of programming from May 2017 until October 2017 must be submitted by 6pm, Monday the 3rd of April 2017.

We look forward to hearing your ideas!
