Ministry of Welfare site specific public artwork commission – deadline 8 April 2011

Ministry of Welfare the UK’s premier Festival Welfare organisation wishes to commission a series of site specific public artworks for 2011 season. MOW seeks artists to show work at one or more UK festivals during summer 2011 including Download, Isle of Wight, Global Gathering, Sonisphere and Leeds. MOW offers information, emotional support, care for people under the influence of alcohol or drugs, lost children/property and crime support.

The commissioned artwork(s) will need to celebrate the ethos of MOW and make a positive statement about our work at each of the festivals we attend. Artist(s) will not be paid a traditional fee for this work, they will be offered: ticket/wristband to the selected festival On site vehicle access, Display space for comments books, business cards etc, Secure camping. Refreshments are provided at all events and meals at some. There will be an opportunity to display the work on the MOW website www.ministryofwelfare.com following the festival.
