Metasis – Goldsmiths 2016 MA/MFA Computational Arts degree show – London, 8-11 September 2016 metasis.io/ Goldsmiths Computing invites you to the opening night party for Metasis, the 2016 MA/MFA Computational Arts degree show. Metasis is the result of a year of intense study, equally focused on technical and critical aspects of computational arts. The works on show illustrate the versatility of computational applications when introduced to fine art. They demonstrate interactive, generative and procedural techniques, ranging from critiquing the autonomy of the system to the role of the artist. The artists argue that code and electronics are creative tools that sit alongside paint, pencils, cameras and musical instruments; tools that can be both critiqued and embraced. Technology enhances existing skills – and enables the exploration of new creative pathways.
