Now in it’s fifth year, The Lumen Prize celebrates the very best art created digitally by artists around the world. Its goal is to celebrate the power and potential of this exciting genre through an annual competition and global tour of works selected by an eminent panel of judges.
Hearty congratulations to the 55 artists who qualified for the 2016 Lumen Prize Long List. Representing 15 countries, these artists are now through to the second round of judging.
And soon, it will be time for you to have your say. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will open in early August. The work which wins that vote will also grab a spot on our 2016/17 global tour.
The Lumen Online Gallery, comprised of the 55 qualifying long list works, can be found here.
Lumen is all about creating opportunities for artists so we are delighted to announce the launch of our new online marketplace Lumenus. Lumenus is a platform for collecting works of art by our shortlisted and award winning artists. We’ve launched with the work of Lumen Artists Marcus West, Claire Reika Wright and Alejandro Davalos. Go on, take a look and let us know what you think.
STAY TUNED FOR THE SHORTLIST
With the Long List selected it’s now on to the hard part. We’ll be announcing the Shortlist in early September and the winners’ on September 29th at Hackney House. In addition to the awards ceremony, there will be an afternoon Digital Arts Seminar which will include artist talks. See you there!
