Post-Doctoral Research Fellow: ‘New Media Forms of the Book’

The PDRF will be part of the UNESCO project ‘Crossing Media Boundaries: Adaptations and New Media Forms of the Book’ which networks 6 institutions internationally. The PDRF will research and make two augmented books for the project adding virtual elements to the real world page by combining mobile phone/AV/NMT technologies and the book. They will work with the wider international team on testing and surveying usage of the books in different cultural contexts.
Full-time: On the successful completion of the first augmented book within this period the post can be extended for a further ten months to complete a second augmented book. The PDRF will work in the Research Institute for Media Art and Design www.beds.ac.uk/rimad

£24,370 per annum
Full-time – 35 hours per week
Fixed term for 10 months (possibility of an additional extension for a further 10 months)
Based at Luton campus, Park Square
