Intellectual Property for Musicians – IOCT, De Montfort University, Leicester, 23 January 2008, 5-7.30pm

Intellectual Property for Musicians

Wednesday 23 January, 5 – 7:30pm, Institute of Creative Technologies (IOCT), De Montfort University, Leicester.

As the music industry develops new methods of marketing to customers and moves across an increasing number of media platforms, including digital, the issue of copyright remains as crucial as ever. In this new environment, it is important to be aware not only of your legal rights, but also of the different types of deal with which you can licence and assign the copyright in your work, whatever the media, and how contingency planning can help you to control the use of your work more easily. Led by expert speakers from Berryman LLP (Nottingham) this seminar will be of relevance to those composing music for the videogame and ring-tone industries, in addition to traditional composers.

Organiser: ProspectIP in conjunction with Creative Leicestershire. There is no charge for this event. To book a place, please call 0116 207 8931 or email .
