A minute’s movie magic to sell the trade union message
You have just a minute to encourage and inform people why they should join a trade union.
The TUC’s 60 Second Ad contest is back …and there are great prizes to be won.
In today’s climate, people need a union now more than ever and this is your chance to show them why. Your audience for the advert is those who have little or no knowledge of trade unions.
You will make a hard-hitting or entertaining film to capture their interest and get the trade union message across. You have between 30 seconds and minute to do so. We are not looking for the next Spielberg, necessarily, what we are looking for are innovative and eye-catching ways to tell the trade union story. Your deadline is midnight August 9, 2010.
Log on to www.tuc60seconds.org.uk for more details, examples of last year’s entries and information on the workshop on Friday, July 19 we will be running with experts in the industry to help get you started.
There are great prizes to be won: £1,000 plus a day on a film set and tickets for the premier of Made in Dagenham, starring Sally Hawkins, Bob Hoskins, Miranda Richardson and Rosamund Pike. Your advert will be shown at a special screening of the film and will be seen by thousands across the world, including showings at the Geneva Labour film festival and the Washington DC Labour film festival. Do not worry, if needed, we will work with you to bring your advert up to broadcast quality.
There are also lots of exciting prizes for the runners up.
