Design propeller TV idents – deadline 29 June 2007

New competition for designers to get their sting on propeller TV (Sky 195)

Graphic designers, TV, film and video makers can enter a new ident competition that will see the winning work shown on national ‘art-house television’ channel propeller tv (Sky 195) later this year. Creatives are being asked to design and produce a propeller sting that will lead in and out of programmes. A panel of industry specialists will choose their favourite sting and the winner will be shown on the channel in alternate programme slots. The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of £1000.

Entries need to be between 3 or 5 seconds long and must use the propeller logo, colours and music. Entries must be received no later than 29 June 2007 when the competition closes. For further information, propeller ident materials and competition entry guidelines, anyone wishing to enter should contact John
Offord at propeller TV by email: mailto: and visit http://www.propellertv.co.uk

Talking about the competition, John Offord said: “Ident television branding is one of the most important elements in a station’s marketing. Everyone recognizes Lambie-Nairn’s BBC balloon ident and it means something to people. Propeller is all about finding and showcasing the latest talent and original ideas and this is a fantastic opportunity for designers and videomakers to be as creative as they can be and to have their work profiled nationally.”
