‘Count As One’ by Liszkiewicz/Miller in The New River journal

I’ve finally had a chance to look through the latest issue (Fall 2009) of The New River journal ( www.cddc.vt.edu/journals/newriver/09Fall/ ), and as usual there are some fantastic works for those interested in new media art and writing. I particularly enjoyed A. J. Patrick Liszkiewicz / Lucas C. Miller’s ‘Count As One’ ( www.cddc.vt.edu/journals/newriver/09Fall/liszkiewicz/count/ ), which is a really clever mix of visual poetry and DIY interactivity – allowing the reader/participant to help in the creation of the poem, but also offering the chance to print or publish the poem directly to Liszkiewicz’s Flickr account (see www.flickr.com/photos/afeeld/ to see what has been created so far). This is something I haven’t seen before, and a very interesting way to overcome the in-built obsolescence familiar to most interactive digital writing.
