cream city review, the distinguished literary journal out of University of Wisconsin-­Milwaukee, is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the academic year 2015-­2016. As part of the festivities ccr is expanding its curatorial projects with a special themed folio called, IØ.

IØ will showcase works that coordinate print and online components – for instance, poems or collage -­ works including QR codes, or other bi-­modal mechanisms; riddles, puzzles, or cryptograms connected to unlockable material online; aleatory or generative texts with code exposed for manipulation; collaborative or socially mediated works with a print outcome; and (especially) any text that stretches the boundaries of print-digital hybridity.

Please keep in mind:

  • Our print journal is a conventional publication with standard digest size printed on 80lb. matte paper. Please contact us for any format or medium-­specific needs. If your artwork is selected for the cover page, you will be notified.
  • File sizes should be kept to a minimum without distorting the quality of the work.
  • The digital work will be accessible on our Web site, creamcityreview.org.
  • cream city review is also available through ProjectMuse.
  • For artwork color settings please use U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2.

    • You may be asked to provide additional information and consultation to assure that your work is effectively presented. Please note that given the hybridity and complexity of this special issue, we may not be able to accept even meritorious submissions if we cannot provide appropriate resources and services to showcase the work.
